Welcome to Morning Star Lodge No. 795, Free and Accepted Masons, one of the newest lodges in the State of Ohio. We were chartered on October 17, 2014 at the 205th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Ohio held in Sharonville.
Back in 2013, several brethren got together to discuss the possibility of forming a daytime lodge in the 9th Masonic District. It was decided to meet as a Masonic club, and make preparation for obtaining a dispensation from the Grand Lodge of Ohio. It was decided to hold the meetings on the campus of the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield. The name of the club was taken from the first lodge ever to be established in Clark County, “Morning Star,” which had been dormant for 185 years.
A dispensation was granted on March 14, 2014 to 39 brethren, and they began to work with the goal of obtaining a charter at the October meeting of the Grand Lodge in Sharonville.
On October 17, 2014, M.W.B. Norman J. Mick, the out-going Grand Master, presented the charter for Morning Star Lodge No. 795 to approximately 30 brethren, many from the Ohio Masonic Home, who were present for this auspicious occasion.
The incoming Grand Master, M.W.B. Steve Cokonougher, consecrated the lodge on November 8, 2014 and Morning Star Lodge 795 was off and running.
We invite any brother Mason who works the night shift, and cannot attend evening meetings, to come and join us on the first Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in Rickly Auditorium on the campus of the Ohio Masonic Home.
Also, anyone who works the night shift, and is not a member, but is interested in joining, can contact us at morningstarlodge795@gmail.com for information.
